Get Me On This American Life

Uploading biweekly podcasts featuring conventions, ex-boyfriends and other seemingly innocuous subjects in order to teach myself how to make a good radio program. The goal: to eventually produce something so magnificent that it is featured on This American Life. The awesome goal: to meet Ira Glass. The ultimate goal: to have a job at NPR/PRI. Working from the bottom up.

Hi.

I love This American Life. Ira Glass is my hero, Sarah Vowell is my heroine, the podcast is my weekly source of comfort, inspiration and entertainment, the Showtime series is one of my main teaching tools I use in class.

I’m not particularly smart or a terrific writer. But If I get broadcast on This American Life, I’ll know that no matter what, I can die happy. I will immediately consider myself successful. I want this so fucking bad that I’ll do anything to get on the show. Upcoming plans: interviewing my high school boyfriend, recording my first words with my mother in ten years, doing a story on a rap about J.Lo (the landlord, not the bubble butt), and much more. Watch out, bitches.
